I am on a month to month contract and I am moving to a new city for work so I needed to cancel my membership. This is something that I expected to walk in and it be taken care of in 10 minutes or less, as has been the case with every other gym I have attended.
Unfortunately this is not how it works as I found out after waiting half an hour on the phone with ABC Financial services (who takes care of the billing) who informed me that I have to send in a written request through certified mail as they do not take verbal requests. This is obviously just an unnecessary hassle to inconvenience people when they decide to leave, and if I had known this I would have never signed up in the first place.
