Tooele, Utah

I have been a loyal member of Anytime Fitness in Grantsville, UT for over two years. The place was great when it first opened up, but now the owner takes the membership money and spends NONE of it for keeping the place up.

There is a broken eliptical that has been broken for over 5 mos. 2 broken treadmills, and the weights are missing parts and broken as well. You're lucky if the tvs are working and you find disinfecting wipes. The floors and walls are dirty, the equipment is dusty and nasty, and the bathrooms are not so great either.

I hope this complaint generates some action on the owners part!!!

Let's do something positive for the members!

Unsafe conditions in Heath, Ohio Anytime Fitness. No window coverings (they took them down) make it unsafe for women to work out at night.

Euipment is old stuff from a YMCA and substandard.

No leg sled, inadequate ab machines.

They got rid of the music at night, very boring to work out to no beat.

Staff and owner are unresponsive to client requests.

i used to own an Anytime and they are a joke. the clubs are dumps, Corporate is useless and so on.

In addition, lets not get too excited about one AF seemingly doing well. With that much overhead in labor costs, a person must wonder what the total "net income" or "net losses" are at the end of the month?

Good service right up until the day they sell or close.

Happens all the time! BTW, Oregon law requires a tanning operator at all times tanning is being your club compliant?

Don't write off all of the Anytime Fitness locations because of one bad experience....ours in Albany Oregon is staffed at least 40 hours a week, with appointments available on Saturdays..the employees are always visible and accessible, very pleasant and very clean..they make an effort to talk to you, encourage you.

It's all about saving $$$. He, like many other 24 hour franchisees, got sucked into a franchise and are learning the hard way about how challenging the fitness industry can be.

The corporates are making BANK while franchisees are wiping out. Recession proof? RIGHT! Profitable?

RIGHT! Easy? RIGHT! Don't be too hard on him, he may be trying to survive with an impossible business model.

If he is letting things go to this extreme, he must be close to going under or selling. Hear that? It's the circling sound around the drain. Won't be long now!

Go to Bluemaumau and look up "Anytime Fitness or Snap Fitness" and read what is happening to the 24 hour clubs in regards to staffing, tanning and CPR/AED requirements.

I guarantee it will put a smile on your face! :grin
