I do not care what the 'lowlife lawyers" of Anytime Fitness say, but a person ought to be able to cancel a contract with a fitness gym place at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all.
Be wary of signing any contract with them, they have "roach motel"
contracts, that are easy to get into, and difficult or impossible to get out of. Also the customer service does not properly explain the various "fine print contract provisions".
A manager at the Jamestown North Dakota Anytime Fitness became verbally abusive and "threatened to call the cops", because I told him that his contract cancellation policy was a sign of a racket. Theirs is simply not a decent way to deal with customers. This is just not right. They do not allow you to cancel over the phone and assume a threatening and angry stance against a customer daring to come to their office to attempt to cancel a contract. For example, when one tries to cancel on account of moving to a different town, they will ask you prove it with new lease contracts, bank statements showing a new address, credit card statements and utility bills showing the address, etc. These are intrusive and overbearing demands aimed at making it as difficult as possible to cancel. I will never again deal with this company.
